Anyone have a memory stick slot malfunction? mine all the sudden quit working when I first tried to use the duo adapter, now none of my sticks are recognized. anyone?

That’s strange indeed. I’ve used my MS slot for all kinds of memory sticks…different brands and types (regular, pro, duo, duo pro) without any problems.

Is the drive still recognized? Or has it disappeared? Perhaps something got jostled inside and the internal connector is loose?

Mine was messing up recently, it thought there was no stick inside when there actually was. I had to uninstall the driver and reinstall it, and that fixed the problem right up. It’s worth a shot, hopefully it’s not a hardware problem. On my SR17K, there was a piece of lint from my pocket that stuck in the Memory Stick and got lodged in the reader, check and see if any of the reader’s pins are blocked. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

At the time I had it hooked up to my inverter in my truck, back in the house hooked up to AC it works fine. What driver did you uninstall and reinstall? mine keeps trying to use windows drivers only for mass storage, and it does internally use a usb controller as the interface right?

I went to the Device Manager under Computer Management, and the Memory Stick Reader/Writer is under the USB controllers. I then uninstalled the device and rebooted the machine. After it came back online, I installed the original driver provided on Sony’s Support Site and it worked again.
