I know that this has been discussed to death, but there are so many different requirements when people look at cases for the TR, I thought I’d explain my situation as well, and see what you creative types thought.

I am currently using a Body Glove CD Case by Fellowes, with the actual plastic CD case insert removed.  This leaves a relatively spacious inside that is only a few inches tall, and some decent semi-rigid padding. 

Being a 2X2 cd case gives a good fit for the width of the TR, but of course the depth is off.  To make up for this, I put my power adapter at the bottom of the case, and then put the TR in on top.

The reason I do this is because the case is in my bookbag, with the “spine” of the case facing the bottom of the bookbag.  With the power adapter on the bottom, I can unzip the case without taking it from my bookbag, and the TR is now flush with the top of the binder. 

I was just wondering if anyone carried their TR in their bookbags, and if so how they dealt with ease of removal, keeping the case from the bottom of the bookbag (where its more likely to be bumped), and storing the power adapter.

I have the PCGA-CCTR/L case which was made specially for the TR series laptop. It also comes in black color PCGA-CCTR/J . However these cases cannot accomodate the AC adapter. They do have a lot of padding to thm though. This case fits easily in the laptop compartment of the PCGA-CCP2 bag. Since the laptop is so small my IGO juice adapter kit and wireless notebook mouse also fit in the laptop compartment. Also, since the width of this laptop is just about equal to the depth of majority of the laptops, it fits in the laptop compartment horizontally rather than vertically which would be the case for majority laptops.

Regarding the bumping of the bag, dunno if this is the case with all laptop bags but the laptop compartment is at a slightly higher point in the bag from the base of the bag…about 2-3 cms. So, even if by chance the bag had to fall hard on its base the chances of the impact reaching the laptop compartment is minimal.

Recently, something made me very unhappy about the backpack though. It was raining on this past Tues so just to be on the safe side I didnt take my laptop with me. On reaching school I was shocked to discover a few of my papers inside the bag to be wet despite that bag being under my umbrella for majority of the time. I had writtent recently to TARGUS (who maufacture that bag for Sony) and expressed my dissatisfaction at their product. The only reason I can think of for water seeping into the bag would be no covers on the zippers of the bag.
