im sure eveyone knows that brenthaven cases are only sold in apple stores. when i went on their website i found other caes that might fit the TR i was wondering if anyone bought a brenthaven case before and how is the fit and feel of it? in the description it said that it had adjustable sleeves. im thinking that it might adjust to fit the TR any suggestion?

I had a Brenthaven for 10 days and then sent it back. I bought it direct from their website - ha ha - an email form, no secure transactions.

For a roadwarrior like me, there can be only one. Michael Hess and the team at Roadwired (http://www.roadwired.com). If you are looking at Brenthaven, look at Roadwired first. I have had a Mega-Media bag for nearly two years and it has served me very well. I am VERY picky about bag features, and this is the only one of the perhaps 20 bags I have owned in the last 10 years, that I would recommend to anyone.

I have tried all of the leading brands and several niche players, from Lands End (yes..) to Samsonite. Until I came across Roadwired I got the sense that the bags I looked at were designed by people who had never used laptops. Roadwired is different. And no, I am not on their payroll, and I do not get any endorsement dollars. THis is a late night “love-the-product”, LOVE THE PRODUCT, rant.

Seriously, awesome protection, top-load, 36 pockets, amazing build quality, excellent features.  The only obstacle I see in Roadwired’s quest for global domination is their lack of a rolling case - which is why I experimented with a Brenthaven case. No comparison.

C’mon, they are resold by TravelPro, widely recognized as the luggage quality and durability leader.

I will agree with vaioguy on the merits of the Roadwired bags although they can carry so much gear you may hurt your back!  The Megamedia bag is great although maybe a little large for trips around town.  It cannot be beat for a road warrior’s “portable office” though IMHO.  My electronics lived out of this bag on my two month journey across the States and the bag peformed flawlessly.  With my SR inside Roadwired’s APS compact sleeve and nestled inside the Megamedia bag, it survived a fall off the back of a truck with no ill effects.  Of course your milage may vary.

As for the Brenthaven, my uncle bought one for his powerbook but returned it due to the shoddy design.  Of course if there is an Apple store nearby bring your TR in and try it out.  It would be interesting to here peoples opinions from within the shrine of Apple-dom.

hi thanks for the recommendation i just checked roadwired.com but it seems that their cases arent adjustable and the TR might just be loose inside. i didnt find a case on there that might fit the TR or maybe i just overlooked a case can you recommend a case that might fit the TR and still have room for files and acc. thanks

Just buy the Sony case that was made for the laptop. The PCGA-CCTR/J or /L is my recommendation.  I slipped in mud and had my laptop in hand, the laptop flew four feet on to concrete, and the case got a little scuffed, but the laptop was in perfect condition.  @ 30 dollars, it was meant to go inside another bag, but its degree of durability and resilience, as well as cheapness gives points in my perspective.  Hope it helps.

Can the smaller pockets fit a smallish camcorder in your opinion?

I am looking for a bag where I can carry everything—TR, camcorder, external dvd-r, books, cables, etc.
