[quote author=“tifosiv122”][quote author=“blarneylad”]My wireless adapter is having all sorts of problems. I travel back and forth between the wireless access at my campus and the wireless in my apartment. When I bring my machine out of hybernation, at either place, I often have trouble getting the machine to pick up on the wireless connection. Sometimes I try to turn the wireless switch off then on again, but it rarely actually fixes it. When it acts up, it usually requires a reboot before it picks up on it.
The other annoying thing is even after it does pick up on the wireless internet connection, it will say its connected in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I’ll then open internet explorer, and my homepage (this forum) doesn’t come up. The browser says there is no internet connection, but if I type in a URL manually it will (sometimes) come up. If this doesn’t work I have to go into command prompt and do an “ipconfig /renew”. Thats the only way I know that I’m finally connected to the internet.
So, would doing the upgrade on the wireless adapter fix this? Any ideas?
Its the most annoying thing about my machine.
First try to turn on the PC with the WiFi off…once its booted up then turn it on.
