in germany we have a law, that is called “Fernabsatzgesetz”, which means translated to english “far away buy” - it covers every order you do not do in a local shop, so it has to be shipped to you. the “fernabsatzgesetz” gives you the right, that you can test your orderd products 14 days and then send it back (the SELLER has to pay therefor), to get your money back - without any comment why you finally made the decision to send it back. this is really cool in the view of online orders, cause you can test the machine at home and have enough time to do a.e. a burnin test - if theres any problem or you just dont like it, just send it back. so - in my view - it is not necessary to go to a local shop to buy it, even onlineshops are mostly cheaper…
the VAT is in germany the “Mehrwertsteuer” (“more-value-tax”) and is always included in the price (but not when you are a buisness-buyer, cause they do not need to pay this tax).
and yep, i already have had contact with “mediafrost” - when they founded the shop and put it online, there was a database error, so all prices was without the “Mehrwertsteuer” (16%) and to coporate client conditions. you cant image how strong emotions can be, when youre searching your dream-notebook and finaly find a shop where it is 1000euro lesser than everywhere else, so even my small budget was able to buy it. .... 10 minutes after my order i got a (personally written) mail from the managment with a big SORRY in there and a bonus for my next order -> free shipping.. they are really ok, i talked a little bit more with them about there problems with the shop-system a.s.o. - i think they are recommendable
if you need any kind of german translation, just ask me or take a look (for word2word translation) @
