I have my tr all set up on my wireless network but as it’s only 11b I sometimes hook it up to my desktop with a cross over cable to transfer large files.  My problem is that everytime I do this I have to use the network setup wizard in xp to get the computers to talk to each other, but this then upsets my wireless connection and so when i’m done I have to use the wizard again to sort that out.
I’ve tried selecting both connections when using the wizard but that creates a network bridge and then nothing works.
Is there any way to set up both connections to the same network without having to redo them everytime?

What I do is… delete the network bridge… then just enable or disable the connections you want to hook up… it works for me with iLink networking and normal ethernet networking. while still using wireless…

I have also had similar problems.  I found the same solution worked for me.  Delete the network bridge and wireless works fine.

Count me in, too.  I have been a victim of the network bridge conflict.  Just delete it and re-boot.  Problem solved.  Let us know!

Cheers guys that seems to have worked.  Well the wireless is still working, will check the ethernet next time I hook it up but I’ve got faith in your wise words of wisdom! 

It would appear that I spoke too soon.
The wireless still works just like before but the ethernet connection still only kinda works.  I can see my TR’s shareddocs folder on my desktop, but I can’t see my desktop from my TR?  :?

Try forcing your TR to find your desktop. So, just hit Windows Key + F and search for computers. Type in the name of your desktop and it should find it (esepcially if it can see your TR).

This happens to my systems occasionally. I normally just need to force them to see each other (by hitting F5 when viewing My Network Places).

Do you have your network connections obtain an IP Automatically or do you specify one?

When I do this it finds the computer, but it’s actually only finding the offline files from that computer rather than the computer itself.

My desktop has a fixed IP from the wireless router, the TR gets a dynamic one.
