Just got my bluetooth module and cable today..it was said to be backordered for 30 days but i got in 2 weeks. I placed an order on saturday on the sony direct website for the uj-812 dvd-rw. got he confirmation email this morning for a bill fora total of 477.70!!! After being placed on hold for 30 min, the sales rep said that the dvd-rw is no longer available as an accessory but only as an oem replacement or the other way around. anyways, to make a long story short, they let me have it for 275 since it was the amount posted on the website. so you are thinking about doing the upgrade, you gotta act quick.

Which BlueTooth module did you get (model number)?  Did you install it yet?

i’m probably going to read over gr00vy0ne’s instructions a few more times and do it this weekend. i got the 1-234-803-22 module. its like 10 dollars cheaper than the 1-234-803-21 and its the same stuff.

If you do follow gr00vy0ne’s directions carefully, you will have a successful installation.  The only word of advice I would like to pass along is to be gentle when you get inside the TR.  The ribbon-type cables and connectors are somewhat fragile.  The bottom line…if I could do it anyone can.  Enjoy the results.

couldn’t wait till this weekend so i went ahead and installed it. i took my time to ensure a super clean install.   now i gotta install the software and start expermenting with all my bluetooth devices. all thanks to gr00vy0ne’s review.

As for the DVD drive, be careful when you order. The difference in price can kill ya. If you order online with the part number 179689212 you will get a quote of $275. If you look up this number 179689213 you will get the same drive for $434. I called them and they tried to sell me the latter one. Place an order online and you will be safe that way for those who are interested in getting an upgrade.

My DVD-R drive shipped from Sony yesterday, I got it today.

Mine has been on order for about 2 months now. Paid $275 and since I had all the problems they threw in overnight shipping free.

called them got it adjusted from 434 to 275… claimed california law. Lowest price posted in the store since the 2 desciptions are exact match. No complaints.
