Hi All,

I seem to be having some issues with my reported CPU speed - I’ve checked all the other posts that refer to powerpanel etc etc, but even though I have set the CPU to “performance” in both AC and Battery settings, I still only get a reported CPU speed of 595 Mhz, even with intensive progerams running in the background, on both AC and Battery modes.

I tried the “CPU speed switch” recommended on here just now, and that seems to report the processor running correctly, but the usual ‘right click on my computer’ report is still wrong.

Any suggestions?

Still the same issue. Occasionally it will go back to full speed upon reboot, but not always. And I don’t think it has ever gone to full speed after rebooting using the battery..

Here’s one way to really be sure.

Download CPU-Z and unzip it to any folder. Run the CPU-Z program and you’ll see your current CPU speed.

When set to performance you should see something similar to this. If you have a TR2/3 then it will be 100Mhz higher than my TR1 score.

When set to adaptive mode it will drop to around 595-600Mhz. I suggest leaving it on the adaptive setting as it seems to provide the power when you need it and keeps the system quiet and cool when you’re idle. Also don’t forget that you have to save your profile after you’ve changed the CPU speed otherwise it won’t take effect.

... It worked on mine ...    At least we tried.
... Anyways, I agree with Groovy’s suggestion to leave it to ADOPTIVE.
... It saves battery life and consumes less heat.
... That’s one of the main advantages of TR (& centrino)

Groovy ... thanks for the link ... I’ve been looking for a similar utility for quite some time now. 

This and several others including Aida32 are utilities that should be on every PC you own.

Thanks guys. The site is really basic but I had sever issues before so I had to keep the content to a minimum…plus black and white is my style.

Everyone asks me about Tifosi via PM and E-mail, I think that was one of the main reasons I created a site, lol.
