pretty much the same here…I just needed those recovery cd’s once and after going through all the pains of getting the hard-to-work hardware to work, I made an image of the c drive with acronis true image 7.0 so that if ever windows xp crashed I would just restore the image and have win xp once again running in 20 mins or so. I also got the dvd’s from sony so if I ever lose those recovery cd’s I wouldn’t be in hot water.

My TR2MP came with 2 DVD recover disks with no image on the HDD. One disk is the Windows XP Pro system the other disk has all the applications.

I did not bother myself burning those cd’s for my TR3A ... instead I convinced Sony to send me a recovery DVD.
