Ok, I stopped by a Fry’s today to look at that software in depth and here’s what I’ve found. It’s tied to a service called Keyboard Closure which checks the hardware for the keyboard being folded up. When it senses it, it loads the “Motion Clock”.
Further digging found that the application is made up of a series of SWF (Shockwave Flash) files which are triggered by the Keyboard Closure software. I believe that software is specifically coded to respond to the service.
I did forcibly open a few of the SWF files in Internet Explorer and they run although some of the functionality is broken. I’ll continue to look into this further and see if there’s any way to hack a program together that uses a HotKey command to trigger these SWF files into working as some sort of screensaver for the TR. This may take a while so don’t hold your breath. Also, I don’t necessarily have access to the Sony software since it only ships with the W-series systems.
