Great idea.  We’ve got some pretty gifted artists on this site.  Maybe gr00vy0ne will let us make it a group effort. :wink:

I will take it into consideration. There is a site revamp scheduled for sometime this summer so we’ll see how well that fits into my plans.

New graphics aside, the basic plan is to add a little more information to the main startup area of the forum. As you know, we get tons of newbie questions that are beginning to get redundant. Most aren’t bothering to search for the wealth of information that resides in the forum so I’m going to organize the information and create new FAQs so that newbies can start there and get there information.

Speaking of which, there will probably multiple FAQs started for various aspects of the TR. Basically, I’ll take the current FAQ, fill it up with more information and then break it up into logical sections. Still thinking about this one.

There will also be an area for site announcements and other things.

I’m also planning on adding a way for members to give themselves custom titles. This will be in addition to your current post ranking.

So, in all, some new changes but nothing major. You will still be able to see the active topics on the top and some new easy ways to jump into categories faster.

So, please be patient and we’ll see how things go.

I almost forgot…there’s also the possibility of adding a field in your profile so you can pick which TR you have. I’d like to actually compile a list of all known models so it’s an official list. That way, we can accurately see what our breakdown is. That may be a stretch but I thought it might be neat. I guess I can always run a poll to get a good guesstimate.

Sweet…also add a part for mods…you can have a check box list of the known mods you can have…

BT, WiFi, DVD-RW, etc…

I like the model idea, is there any way it can be under our avatars like on HoFo or ClieSource? I always give those a quick glance before answering questions people post or just for kicks.

That’s true…almost forgot about that one. Ok, we’ll see on all of these options. I’ll see how much database work needs to be done to support this and how well it can integrate with the phpBB and see what can be done.

Any help you need i’d be glad to pitch in. Without this site my Notebook would not have BT, DVD, or 802.11g…

  Groovy, to possibly spare you some work (and earn some props on the side) you could always putz out the FAQs to some of the higher-ranking members on the side, Drachen, wabbit, and some others come to mind.  They could always be reviewed by you after they’re completed, anyways.

  Drachen, methins a new poll is in order, as the latest model on that poll is the TR2APish.  Of course, we could use those results + a new poll for compiling a TR model database ala ClieSource.
