How do you insert images into posts? I don’t get the paste option while the cursor is in the box?

When posting an image, just click the little “IMG” button at the beginning and ending of the image URL. I need to clean all of the icons off the desktop before taking a screenshot!

I posted a link to my page with a few of these on it already, but I might as well post them here. I’m definitely into utilitarianism rather than minimalism. Here are the two desktop themes I use most often:

My desktop is the result of various programs. There are various programs available to do all of this stuff so you have lots of options. Here’s what I’m using and the associated skins/themes. Just so you know, not all of the software is free.

StyleXP is used to skin the taskbar and pretty much all of Windows. Alternatively, you can use WindowBlinds to do the same thing. However, the same skin I’m using isn’t currently available for WindowBlinds yet.

The iconset I’m using is Snow.E.

IconPackager -> Snow.E

The shadows on my system are handled by Stardock System’s WindowFX. Although WindowFX has many other features, I suggest not turning them on since it can turns Intel’s graphics chipset into the Intel Extremely Slow Graphics 2. Shadows only works just fine though.

The explorer tool bar is skinned with Y’z Toolbar with the Milk theme. Also, I’ve rearranged the order of the toolbars to acheive a different affect.

I found the wallpaper at Tetsoo.com. It’s a very nicely done. You’ll have to modify it to look right on your desktop since it’s a higher resolution.

Here’s more of the same. This is an alternative theme I’m using depending on my mood. It’s essentially the same as the other one except it’s Slate inspired.

If you’re going all Longhorn on us anyway, go for broke and download a sidebar .  8) If you use WMP, you’ll wonder how you got along without it.

It’s a normal thing. I don’t know why it takes a while either but it does. Perhaps they’ll fix this in the next version which should be out fairly soon.
I do think part of it has to do with Windows XP itself.

dLo: What program are you using for transparency on AIM? iBlend?

I have been playing around with Playboy’s GUiPod port and I am totally loving it! Unfortunately, it washes out a little too much on the TR’s super bright LCD and looks much better on my desktops’ darker LCD displays:

Drachen: I’ve been using that skin as well and you’re right…it’s just a tad bit too bright for the TR. However, it’s a really nice skin. If it came in a slightly darker hue it would work pretty well.

If you want to play around with Trillian Pro, it has a feature to enable transparent windows when they’re not in the foreground. It’s a nice feature!

One of these days I’ve got to break down and buy StyleBuilder to fix stuff like that. The Apple logo start menu icon could stand to go too. I’m not a fan of the orange highlights either, but I can deal with that… hence the chick in the miniskirt in the background.  8)

Do you mean the black taskbar? Did you read the previous post where I mentioned essentially all the tools I used to do this?

You’ll need to have TGTSoft’s StyleXP to change the themes. Alternatively you can use Stardock’s Windowblinds program to change the themes. Both programs have tons of free skins to change the colors/theme of your Windows XP setup.
