Mine looks pretty obvious. I want to know if that is gr00vy0ne pulling off that dance stunt! I used to think that Drachen’s old sepia pic was a self portrait. Now he has a pose of a guy out of a Highlander movie. Could you all entertain us and spill the dirt on your avitar? :D
Yes, that’s me doing my trademark trick. Outside of being a geek, I perform and teach dance semi-professionally. It’s mostly old school styles but with a specialization in Locking. So, the dancing thing goes along with my handle…which was given to me by a former co-worker who was amused by my after work activities.
gr00vy0ne, you are fortunate. The only Locking I do is the noise my joints make when I stand up. (I’m only 31!!) I get like no exercise, and I would most certainly embarrass myself doing a trick like that. You get much cool points with me for that move.
No, no, no…you won’t see me doing stuff like that any time soon! Avoiding fast food and chasing my 3 year old around should keep me alive long enough. I hope.
My old avatar was Lucien from the movie Underworld. Not a self-potrait, but close enough. I’m currently using Grammaton Cleric Preston from the movie Equilibrium. I’m a movie geek too. I like to change things around because I have a bad habit of associating people mentally with their avatars, so I change them pretty often. I like changing my title at random times too.
Impressive, gr00vy. I don’t have the coordination for that. I’d probably just end up hurting people.
Drachen- I just watched Equilibrium last week after receiving it for Christmas- great movie, especially with the miniscule budget Wimmer had to work with. Taye Diggs’ final scene was cheesy and made me laugh though, bad SFX in that one.
As for the avatar, I don’t really change them too often due to laziness. My old one was of Domo-kun, mascot of NHK’s BS digital satellite service, and the new one is scanned from a t-shirt I received.
Mines obvious, I am British, and I like Bulldogs. I am also 31 this year, while I am lean, if I had a go at what gr00vy0ne does I would be in bed for a month with a bad back. It is cool to get a wider veiw of the contributors to this site. I too am a movie buff, Blade Runner is my all time greatest.

I’ve turned a bunch of people onto that hidden gem. His next film, Ultraviolet, stars Milla Jovovitch and is supposed to involve humans vs vampires in some way… Color me skeptical, but I guess it did work for Underworld. (On a side note: did you ever notice how stupid many movie plots and characters are when you explain them to people? I just ordered a Sideshow Kroenen figure and I’m looking forward to telling people who ask that he’s a “masochistic, bio-mechanical Nazi ninja with sand for blood” )
Aphex: Blade Runner is amazing for the atmosphere - almost prophetic in some ways, but IMO it’s only a fair film otherwise.
Mine is obvious…Homer Simpson is the man, nuff said. One of my favorite episodes was when he became a bodyguard for Mayor Quimby…which is why in my avatar he looks like a bodyguard.
