Does anyone know what the difference between the two are, other than a saving of $9 !! 

I just ordered the cable from Sony and he told me its back ordered until the end of June.  I ordered it anyways,  Its not like there are that many places to buy the cable.

Unbelivable.  I just got done placing my order with sony for the cable.  I checked my email shortly after.  To my surprise, I got an email from Digi-Key that my order I ordered this a while ago) is being shipped.  Now I just have to wait on hold for sony to cancel my order.  I’m just happy it’s on its way.

the question now is do i really want to go back in an replace the 5 mile long one with the short one, esp. since everythings working just fine.

Are you saying the digi-key one is the wrong one?  I believe I ordered the 200mm one.  This will work, right?  Or do I have to order the one from Sony?

The one from DigiKey is fine. It works. So, you can use either one. It doesn’t matter since the connector is standard. One is not going to work any better than the other.

Yes got my cable today and installed the BT module.

Seems relatively easy espeically with the comprehensive guide by groovyone.

Installed the drivers and got it working.

But I have a question.  I was using TDK’s usb dongle.  It comes with this Bluetooth Neighbourhood thingie.  I could explore and download a number of pictures/files from accessing it like an explorer interface.

After installing BlueSpace, the services detected doesn;t enable me to do that.  It’s a really cool and eye candy gui.  I can’t do the same with my previous BT adaptor.

If i’m not wrong, my previous dongle/TDK’s software can do this OBEX file transfer thingie which i think it’s lacking from Sony’s BT? Anyone can confirm tis?

I got the Bluetooth module - still waiting on the coax cable - Sony says 60 days! 

I have gone over groovy’s illustrated instructions many times so I feel pretty confident that I can do this, however I have a couple of questions:

1.  Where does the coax cable go after you attach it to the daughterboard?  Is it supposed to go into the screen area?  Everyone who has done this seems to know so maybe it will become apparent when I open it up?

2.  Which two rubber feet need to be removed to access the screw beneath?  The two nearest the battery, or the two nearest the front of the PC?

If you don’t mind an answer from an amateur

1. Plug the other end of the cable into the Bluetooth Module and it circles around area of the daughterboard (with the 200mm cable).

2. The two feet closest to the battery have screws under them (small arrows point to them).

Hey folks!

I’ve crawling the site since I decided I must have a TR! I figured I’d join because I have a question.

Since the BT and the antenna are taking weeks to be shipped I was thinking of ordering them now.  I dont have a TR YET, but I’ll be getting one in the next month or so. Ya think this is a good idea? I guess it would not hurt right? Then once I got my TR I would not have to anxiously wait for one to be shipped to me..

I’ve never taken apart a laptop, but I’m up for it!
