Leave it up to Sony to release yet another droolworthy camera. It’s essentially the DSC-T1…but thinner. Same 5 Megapixels, 3x optical zoom, and 2.5” LCD.

The only thing that I’m not sure of is if it has built-in lens cover. If no, then you have to have some sort of slipcase for it if you don’t want to scratch the lens. I love that I can just drop the T1 in my pocket and go.

Still, it is pretty slim and looks good too.

I like the pearl white finish because it does match the Sony TR better. It is marketed towards the ladies so lady TR owners take note!!! It’s not available in the US yet but probably will be sometime this summer…unless Sony decides against bringing it over (which I doubt).

It looks pretty slick, but I wonder if the slimness is just because they removed the sliding lens cover. Everything else looks the same on it, except for the handle-thing on the side. The T1 will probably last me for a long time, I upgraded from a DSC-P5 purchased in 2002. If there’s one thing I’d like to see, it would be bigger Memory Stick Pro Duos, the video mode eats up my 512MB stick like crazy. Also, the battery falls out whenever I open the compartment, I liked the catch on other CyberShots.

It is also a bit longer and heavier.

This is slightly off the topic, but has ne one ever purchased a camera from A & M Photo world? I want to buy the Canon EOS 10d from them and would like to know if they are reliable…most websites sell it for approx. 1500 while these ppl. were selling it for 869 sometime ago. Just now they are selling it for 1249. But, I’m sure the prices will drop again at their website.

Actually, it’s slightly longer (due to the bigger reinforced handle), but thinner and lighter than the T1.

Rahul: I would stay away from that place. It’s one of those dodgy camera shops which either sell refurbished cameras or literally parts of cameras. For instance, they might sell you the camera at that price but without the AC adapter, battery, manuals, warranty etc. You’ll have to buy those separately which ends up costing the same as getting it from a legitimate place. If it’s too good to be true then it probably is. There’s a lot of shady vendors selling cameras like this.

That DSC-T11 looks real nice.  We are just that much closer to a tapless camcorder that can capture 5 megapixels or better and a cell phone to boot all in one device!

Then we can truely say “droolworthy”...I won’t wait for you to review it either, gr00ve.  :wink:

All it takes is 4GB of Flash Ram and some Sony pixie dust…

Still no tripod mount?

Yeah, no tripod mount…which I think is a shame because it’s necessary for those low light shots.

I’m surprised Sony hasn’t already released a proprietary mount tripod for the DSC-Tx series…
