Has anyone upgraded to Outlook 2003? The new layout is very friendly to the TR’s widescreen dimensions. The Outlook pane has been replaced with a more usable navigation pane and the default layout works really well.

Overall, the program is snappier and has a nicer interface. My only gripe is that Outlook still has the crappiest IMAP support around. It’s fine if you have one or two IMAP accounts set but if you have more then it simply craps out. Oddly enough, Outlook Express has always had decent support of IMAP…you would think that they would borrow the code for it and put it into Outlook which has had the crappy support since Outlook 98.

I suspect it’s a Microsoft conspiracy to force…err…encourage users to use Exchange since it works “better” than IMAP.  :wink:

i just got office 2003 and i have installed it but i i havent had a chance to fully set it up yet.  but it looks good so far. 

question for you:  when i try to set it up with my exchange server it mentions something about if you want to leave the message on server you need to change a setting in email accounts but i cannot find the setting.  do you know where that is?  i dont want my messages deleted off server unless i do it manually.

Are you setting up your exchange account via POP or are you using the Exchange account settings? From what I know, if you set it up using Exchange account settings then it should always leave the messages on the server by default. How are you setting up the account?

not sure.  i just choose exchange account in the wizard but when i go to proceed it mentions that message.  and i am gunshy about having the messages deleted off the server.
