I wish that the max volume when connected to external headphones/speaker was a little louder.  With the volume contyrols cranked all the way, the sound level is just too soft, especially if trying to listen in a noisy environment like when flying.  Anyone have a fix for this?

I suspect it’s a driver issue and that they could make it louder. Your best bet is to invest in a pair of noise cancelling headphones so that you can listen to your music the loudest.

Yea, I have a pair of those already, but still, it always seems like the volume is lacking.  It was not an issue on my previous Vaios.

Do you have Bass Boost enabled? Also, do you have the SoundMax advanced features turned on? I found that turning off the bass boost feature and turning the Treble and Bass down to “0” increased my overall volume levels.

and it that don’t work maybe the next step is an ear exam!  you might be deaf. after years of getting seats next to speakers at rock concerts, i am.  i have to turn the volume up to -4 or -5 bars on my tr1 (if i go higher it hurts) and i am using some REALLY CHEESY apple ipod headphones.  but d**n, it still sounds so good!  i also got a copy of music match’s dfx 6.4 which does some mp3 processing that’s pretty cool, and increases the volume of mp3 playback, amoung other tweaks. good luck, and remember to never wear headphones when driving under the influence of drug of choice and while also watching a dvd on your dash-mounted tr1.
