As some of you might know I tried buying a DVD-+RW on ebay in January that was supposed to fit the TR. The seller had 100% positive feedback, I felt safe buying from him. I sent out the payment, Money Order, in January and did not receive the item.

I filed an ebay complaint and it finally has been resolved:

I am very happy. The item ended at $192 and shipping was around $10, so I paid $210 and got $167 back…yes I lost money, but it could have been much worse.

I have been doing business on Ebay for years, this is the first time I got stiffed and I am glad ebay took the hit and payed me back.

His ebay id was: “alabanjo” and as of today he is no longer a member…he was yesterday.

That is very good to hear Erik. I’ve heard many accounts of people not getting any money back so it’s good to hear that you got around 80% back. Of course, now that you have it back you have to earmark that money for some more Sony stuff… :wink:

I have bought something only once over ebay and it was a terrible experience for me. It was for a battery for my toshiba laptop since the one I had lasted only for 1 hr. This one that I bought went a step ahead..it lasted only for 10 mins!!. I had the hardest time getting my money back…plenty of phone calls, emails, etc…ultimately they refunded me 56 bucks (I paid 56 for the battery + 8 shipping and also had to bear the return shipping expenses).

I’ve bough (and sold) over 250 items without any major issues…I do my research before buying…this guy was perfect, then he just took off. I know he had several auctions going so I assume he took a lot of our money.

Even I had contacted them before buying to find out how long the battery would last, etc..which they responded with 2 hrs. That seller seemed genuine too…97% +ve feedbacks (over 3000 ratings) and a dedicated seller of toshiba merchandise. For my terrible experience I left them an appropriate feedback.

Yeah, sometimes that hurts worse then a refund.
