how to delete hidden partition?

i couldn’t create the recovery cds using the wizard so sony is sending me the dvd.  my question is does anyone know how to delete the hidden partition without going thru the recovery wizard??  i’ve tried going to manage but when i click on the 5 gb drive it won’t let me do anything to it.  thanks
