i left my tr in the ck5t case without turning it off for one and a half hour. i noticed when i was about to put my computer (incase) in place. it was warm when i touch the case. I opened the case and ???? I forgot to turn it off… the question is will it harm or anything?
everything seems to be fine sofar but i dont really know if there’s anyitng bad about that.
i thought i was the only one that did that. some of my engineering nerd friends were drooling over my tr at school and i didn’t notice that one of them turned on the motion eye camera. well i closed the comp and figured it would go to stand by like it always does, but i guess it didn’t cuz when i took it out, it was really hot and basically out of batteries. this happened about a month ago and i haven’t seen any side effects to date. from my best vantage point, it seems to be no harm no foul. i guess we’ll just have to be a little more careful.
I’m sure Sony did some pretty rigid testing before releasing the TR less than a year ago. I have done the same as you both have mentioned and have had no performance degradation to date. They probably assumed we’re just as susceptible to human nature, too.
i have a dell inspiron 4100, and have used it as an mp3 player for the last 2 years while it is in my bag. never any problems and it doesnt get too hot, will i be able to do this with the TR?
I’ve noticed that my TR heats up more then most of my other notebooks. You can design a profile, lets say Mp3, that would down-step the CPU to it’s lowest setting…maybe that will keep her nice and cool…
[quote author=“diego”]i plan to travel the world with the TR next year so having it as an mp3 player would suit perfect, or can anyone recommend a 50GB+ mp3 player?
Eek…50+ GB…I remember seeing a solution that was basically a HD enclosure that can run MP3s…but it’s huge…i’ll see what I can dig up.
