i was wondering if anyone uses an FM modulator to play music on their stereo?  I was thinking about getting one so that could play my mp3’s on my sound system without all that cables getting in the way.  a friend of mine said i could try out his universal belkin modulator, but i want to know if anyone is using one right now.  if so leave a little ditty about it and tell us all if it’s worth getting.

The drawback is that the sound of the CD changer will not be “CD quality”, it will be as good as the FM tuner is.  The signal coming from the CD player has a wide frequency range but the FM tuner limits the signal, cutting the lower and upper ends of the spectrum.

  i was actually thinking about building my own fm modulator.  i have access to all the labs at the university because i’m working on my senior project, so testing and equipment is no problem.  has anyone tried building one lately?  i think i can do am demodulation , but fm is totally different (and the quality is so much better because of the larger bandwidth) so i wanted to know if anyone had prior knowledge.  if anyone does, please tell me about it.

it seems like there site is down for some reason. 

it is the c.crane FM Modulator.  I paid $79 for it and there is also a mod you can do to make the distance longer.  it ships with like 100” distance capacity but if you do the mod it can go upwards of 300-400” 

i use it daily in the house listening to streaming radio in the shower, kitchen,bedroom etc…
