That’s basically what my brother just got his Masters in this winter. He’s been given a job by the DOD, but they haven’t told him where he’s going to be hired at yet. He’s been on 3 or 4 interviews for private companies, but the market is pretty dry out there. :?

Finance business on the side, but I obviously live for the music. Guitar endorsements are especially cool…

Drachen,
The market is pretty dry right now in southern cali. I should be back to normal in about a year, but that doesn’t do me much good since i’m graduating this year. I’m calling up every connection i’ve made in my short 22 years and trying to get my foot in the door somewhere. But like i said before if there’s some TR owner out there, who’s company is looking for a young go-getter style engineer, HOOK IT UP… HAHAHA

Hi all,
I’ve been lurking for a few weeks now, and I really love this board - I have learnt so many cool and new things regarding this fantastic series of notebook pc’s, and this is probably one of the first boards I have visited where threads have not degenerated into flame wars! Thank you all for your informed and excellent knowledge and advice, which ultimatly influenced my purchasing decision!
I’m a guitar player with a band and write and produce also. I also head up a team of web designers/developers in the UK. (http://www.tfjproductions.co.uk)
I have a Toshiba 9200-502 series laptop which is absoulutely amazing but weighs too much and is really not a very portable machine. My Tr1MP, on the other hand is just a dream - ok , so it’s not as powerful as the tosh, but I hardly miss it. Now I have a 512mb upgrade I feel a bit better, although I understand that the TR1MP is superceded by ther TR2 (and av ailable at the same price..grrrr.). Nothing a USB2 external HD can’t fix though!!
Anyway, thought I’d come out of lurking mode to say hi, it’s great to discover what you all do for a living - great thread!

I’m a contract UNIX/scripting/database whore in investment banking, which is a lot cooler than it sounds actually. When not on contract I can be found behind turntables in nightclubs and at outdoor dance festies all over the world, hiking up mountains (while more often than not involved in Geocaching www.geocaching.com), and generally being on the move a lot….
I think of myself as some sort of Cyber-Gypsy(tm)—I’ve lived in Hamburg, Stuttgart, Munich, Coburg, NYC, Seattle, Austin, Baltimore, London, Glasgow, Dundee, Dublin, New Jersey and a bunch of other places I forgot and I tend to never stay anywhere more than a few months. The guiding maxim of my life is “never own more stuff than you can carry”, and I’m ready for deployment in 15 minutes or less at all times. My TR1MP suits this lifestyle perfectly.
