I would love to do many of upgrades explained in the forums to my TR1 (No need for a TR3 yet), great info on the posts about the bluetooth, DVD-RW upgrades (Good job gr00vy0ne ).

I have a TR1FA (Latin American Model, only upgraded XP to Pro in english). I want to do the upgrades mentioned but no one ships parts to Mexico, I tried the local Sony service shop with no luck.

I am traveling to Chicago in early May, does anyone knows if the Sony store in Michigan Ave. (I believe it has a spare parts dept.) sells the DVD-RW, the 123480321 bluetooth module and the 182726621 2mm mini coaxial?

Any help will be appreciated.

I don’t know about Chicago, but I was just in Japan (Nagoya) and had NO LUCK getting the parts at the stores there.  I am hoping to get to Osaka in a couple of months.  They have an extensive electronics area (Den Den Town) where I might have better luck.  I did just get an email from the place I ordered the cable from and they said that the item won’t be in for a while…all of a sudden there is a huge demand for them.  I guess I know where a lot of that demand originated…I am one of the guilty…

Because I happened to be up there, I went to the Sony store on Madison Ave at 54th st. The store is very cool if you’ve never been there, but they don’t sell parts direct there. They accept service requests, but they still send the part down to San Diego to get serviced.

Regarding the Sony Store in Chicago , i think they are closing the chicago store soon or if not already closed. i went there couple of weeks ago the store was almost empty of products!  and beside that the NY store called me regarding my T1 order and they told me that they are taking care of my store order since the chicago store will close out very soon .
