After I got a system error after attempting to reinstall the computer, (check thread under software: recursive boot error) I called Sony to complain about the whole thing, (I had bought the computer about four days before) and basically, after a lot of finagling, I was able to wrestle a TR3A Recovery DVD out of them. The only problem is that they have a lot of BS before they help you. They even mistakenly sent me a TR2AP+ Recovery Disc, thinking it was a TR3A disc, but after two or so weeks, I finally got my DVD, free of charge. Just be prepared to wait a bit and keep trying.

There are 2 DVD’s included in the set. I found the Sony CSR’s to be extremely polite and helpful. I told them my problem and they promised to send me a recovery dvd set. The next day I had the recovery dvd’s with me (they used fedex next day). Unfortunately they sent me the ones for the TR2 series while I had a TR3AP3 so i got on the phone again with them (it was amazing..they recognised my no., and when the CSR began talking with me he already knew my name etc) and again next day I had the recovery dvd’s with me (TR3AP).
All this for 0$..although after spending 2845 on a machine like this it should have been included originally with the package.
The only problem was that since I gave them my order over phone the first CSR got my name as Rexul instead of Rahul
To all: I don’t know about you guys, but Sony’s tech support is a hit or miss. Either you get somebody who knows what they’re doing (for the most part, i mean, most of us know more than them) or you get somebody who has a thick, difficult accent and doesn’t know RAM from ROM. They are helpful, but they FedExed me the wrong disc the second time, and then put in ‘calls’ to mysterious ‘departments’ left and right. In all, I received the TR2AP discs and two weeks later I got the TR3A Discs, which for KZ2030, is 1 DVD, but thankfully they overnighted those at least. Lousy blighters. Still, i saved 15 bucks for the DVD and got my laptop running!
