I installed 3DMark 2001 SE on both my TR2A (upgraded to Pro) and my desktop, and got the following results using its System info applet (System Info>Motherboard Info>AGP Capabilities):
TR2A:
Revision: 2.0
Rate: 1x, 2x, 4x, (1x enabled)
Aperture Size: 256 MB
Sideband Addressing: supported (disabled)
Fast Write: supported (disabled)
Desktop:
Revision: 3.0
Rate: 4x, 8x (8x enabled)
Aperture Size: 64 MB
Sideband Addressing: supported (enabled)
Fast Write: supported (enabled)
[I’m using the latest Intel graphics drivers that allow me to use the magnify button.]
It shows that the TR2 is capable of AGP 4x but it’s crippled at 1x, does anyone know how to get it to 4x?
I’m not that interested in changing the aperture size (BIOS setting), but maybe someone else here is, so if you know how please explain.
Enabling Fast Write & Sideband Addressing would be nice also.
My theory on how to fix this:
Use a compatable generic Phoenix BIOS (if they still make those), risking a dead TR
