Is it possible to replace my original MK4004GAH with the MK2529GSG?

Or is it even possible to use the Samsung HX-SU025BA/G82? Because this one is mostly used in external drives and so i could transfer all the data on my old HD onto the external, than open the external case and put the HD into my TR2AP. would be the easiest way to keep my whole system at its state.

Hello LeXx.  I may be wrong, but I think you have a BIOS limitation of 80GB.  You might search the forum because I think this was discussed before.

Writing data from one drive to another then swapping out the drives will not work.  You need Norton Ghost or Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Desktop.

It has been a while since I last revisited this topic.  It is not BIOS limitation, but a hardware limitation of what is available that will fit and still have a PATA interface. 

There is a Toshiba 1.8” 80GB drive that works (according to this forum, not my own experience).  Not sure of the availability. 

I think there may be a KingSpec PATA 128GB SSD available.  I have one of their 64GB SSD drives installed.  It is excellent.
