I have a vaio s270p and for some reason after shutdown last night it will no longer power on. I have tried several things such as using ac only and battery only, none of which seem to work. I tested the power wires connecting to the motherboard and they are carrying the correct voltage. I am at a loss for what to do to fix this, other than trying a replacement board. Any ideas on where i could find a new board or anyone else have a similar problem?

I just purchased a replacement acer timeline 4810t-8480 for the newer specs and better battery life. Maybe my S got mad and decided it wasn’t going to take anymore. Also I just received a new hdd two days ago to replace my less than stellar old one. maybe i should return it instead.

I feel sorry for you Darek.  I couldn’t imagine my S170 were to die this way.

Check Ebay for parts, I’ve seen all sorts of different parts for the S series.  In the past I’ve come across motherboards, sound cards, etc.., so give that a try.
