Not sure whether I’m the first or not, but I have Windows 7 up and running on my TR1MP (I work for Microsoft). It seems a lot faster than XP to me, but of course I’m going from an XP with lots of stuff installed to a Win7 with practically nothing, so it’s always tricky to work out whether there’s a real improvement or not.

I got it running on my TR2 also. Performance is good, especially compared to Vista which I kicked off the machine after just one week.

But there definitely are some quirks. It doesn’t ship with a working graphics driver for the 855GM chipset. I found the one from Vista on a forum and got the native resolution to work with it. But when moving a window around, especially VLC or WMP, Windows freezes. At this point, I only can shut it down with the power button.

How did you get your graphics working?

I didn’t really get the graphics working. I am just running it in 1024x768 and losing some screen. :(

I did some hunting around but couldn’t find anything either.

I installed Windows 7, Built 7000 German. Everything works exept
the cam. Which driver did you use?

XP 1.0 Driver = no shutdown
XP 1.2 Driver = blue screen at shutdown :-(

Also I am looking for a chipset driver for 815. Does one exist?

For the graphics, the Windows Vista driver is working ok now. Turning down video acceleration to the second setting from the left was the key. So I got the native resolution and no freezes.
I didn’t bother for the cam as mine is broken, but since there was no working driver for Vista, I guess you’re out of luck on Win7 too.

This Windows 7 works very smooth on my TR with 1.5 GB RAM an 80 GB HD…..but I love the cam and use it often.
