I would like sell my Sony PCG-X505/P

It is supplied with:

Original Cases (1 for laptop and 1 for accessories)
Original Optical mouse/card reader
Original Wireless 54g card
Original LAN/Video adapter
Original Power supply unit
Original Install CDs and box
Original Manuals
Original Packaging the unit came in (slightly tatty)
Original PCMCIA slot filler
Original single unused pointing stick cover
Sony Blue tooth USB adapter (PCGA-BA1, was worlds smallest and still tiny)
Sony DVD/CD RW boot drive (only has trouble writing sometimes but think its fixable. powers from the laptop)

Unless stated, all of the above are in near perfect condition.

The unit itself has only a couple of fine scratches with paint flaking from the bottom. The A and S keys have slight wear and the click buttons have average wear. There are no dead pixels or scratches on the screen, and the unit has never been dropped since new.

Ill be sad to see it go.

Guys I am really sorry but i have some bad news. I thought I would try and clean the laptop up for sale but have ended up damaging the ribbon cable which comes off the power on/off button. It has torn now and needs to be replaced. The on/off switch its self is fine though the housing around it has broken slightly (this can be easily glued or replaced).

At the same time i have noticed a very fine hairline crack of a few mm near the hinge. The fine crack doesn’t appear to be spreading and the lid opens and closes as normal.

And lastly, the cursor as per most x505s wonders slightly under heavy use but corrects its self after a few seconds.

So I guess im faced with either the repair job which i don’t really want to do. Or selling the unit as is as spare parts or to someone who doesn’t have butter fingers like me and is capable of repairing it.

Please let me know if you can help. I dont want the unit to go to waste given the motherboard, screen etc.. are all working fine.

I wish i had never tried to clean it up! A good deed biting me in the ass
