Hello dear all x505 beholders,
I think this notebook is so perfectly designed, it should be kept alive and updated into the future. WHat do i mean? Well, To me the size of the machine, it`s weight and slimness gives it ultimate portability without the sacrifice of comfort for typing and viewing media. The screen size in terms of physical actual measures of width and length are again perfect and that is exactly where my first point comes in. As new OLED technology and lcd technology is on the rise one cold potentially replace the existing screen with one that provides better overall specs maybe even touch screen capabilities.
Also the issues with upgrading the memory and the processor only really appear in the context of keeping the old motherboard, but who says eventually we could not basically replace the entire mtherboard with a new one of equivalent dimensions to fit and much higher specs. Anyway to put it shortly, to me the form factor of our x505 is so good that i would not wish anything smaller in size to replace it, only with better specs. To me any non-solid state memory devices will quickly desert to the thing of past and hence i do not see any problems with not having able to install blue ray drives into the body of a notebook as i think they will soon become obsolete. To me also no matter how advenced touchscreen technologies will become i will still probably prefer to use a “real” keyboard instead.
I am eagerly awaiting what you guys think about the potential of making our beloved machines “immortal” 
The above ideas are in many ways naive and are merely a vision in my brain, please feel free to correct me on any assumptions that i have made that are incorrect.
