What is the difference between PCG-X505/P, X505/CP, X505/SP, X505/ZP, etc.?

I know SP is lighter than P and SP is carbon fibre while P is nickel carbon

No problem!

Sorry to inform you George but your X505/P is not 100% carbon fibre.  Your model is nickel carbon composite.  The 100% carbon fibre version you can individual carbon thread weave in the casing.

Also, what’s up with your wireless card?  That’s not the original one that came with the X505.

I’ve inspected my X505/P precisely. Both screen sides are carbon fibre as exactly as keyboard side of main case. Only bottom side is a piece of tinplate.

I have two different Vaio WiFi cards. One of them is an original X505 PC card, when the second one (on a picture) is an addidtional PCWA-C800S, which works on 5 GHz too!

Sorry George, but you are wrong!

The X505/P that you have is the nickel-carbon composite.

Check out this video and you will see a true 100% carbon fiber model.

You will see that the top and bottom are true 100% carbon fiber threads coated with a glossy coating.

If yours does not have the threads or the coating, then it is not the CF version.

just to get it straight: the p, sp and cp models are the japanese models
any other models like zp, vp etc.. are american or european models all of them carbon-nickel casing and not full carbon fibre
out of the japanese spec ones the p is nickel-carbon, the sp is a shiny coated original full carbon fibre version and the cp is the latest full carbon fibre model with the updated processor and an improved carbon fibre technology as described by the official 505 extreme japanese site and the cp is also the ligtest of them all at a mere 780g weight. The cp has a matt finish vs the sp. is also carbon fibre fully with a glossy finish.
