At any rate, if it’s working then don’t change anything. At this rate I don’t think you want to have any more problems. I do know that the 13.6.1 driver works fine but again, if you’re back to a working system then don’t mess around with it.

i never installed the one you just posted for me.  i just deleted the new i installed yeterday and now i have the 6.13.1.3.485

i will leave it and hopefully i will be ok!

Rabbit, maybe you should hold off on future driver updates unless it fixes a specific issue you’re having…

Adding to the experiences of the members in the board….

Upgraded my TR2AP3 (1GB, WinXP SP1) to the newest driver.  Everything was working fine and not reboot needed.  However…..  :cry:

Rebooting the machine produced a BSOD during the video driver init… this was repeatable and only a “safe mode” boot was possible.

I removed the driver, started in VGA mode, reinstalled the original (shipped) driver and everything is fine again.

Funny thing, after my post above I thought the problem resolved until I did a Fn F7 and got the BSoD.  I double checked and somehow my driver had only ‘temporarily’ been rolled back.  I still had 14 loaded.  I went to the sony vaio support site and downloaded/installed the original driver.  Things seem fine know after restarting twice.

By the way, there were some other driver updates listed there.  Anyone wanna check these out? :wink:

so i checked out intel’s driver site and seems they’re up to 14.2 now (3/19/04).  has anyone bothered to try this since 14.0 had so many issues (zoom, etc)?

also, the default installed driver for mine is 6.13.01.3485, but the earliest one i can find on the intel site is a 12.0 from 1/03.  are they using a custom driver for these vaios, or is that 6.13 really the 13.6?  any clues?

so, based on my version, 6.13.01.3485, i’m using XP and have DirectX v9.x, but unfortunately, based on the build number (3485), i don’t have ANY of the released drivers from Intel.

3460 = PV12.1
3510 = PV13.1

So does that mean that this was a custom build for these machines somewhere in between, before PV13.1 was released, perhaps to fix some bugs in PV12.1?  Also, any updates on the 14.xx series?

so, i got to work today, set up the extended desktop and once again saved the scheme…but now, even with the new driver, it still doesn’t remember the laptop setting when i switch back to “Mobile”, and then back to “Office”.  At least it keeps track of the main monitor setting, but definitely annoying to have to select extended desktop, then set the resolution on the laptop each morning.

anyone have a solution to this?
