ok i dont know what exactly to call them but they r certainly not specs of dust and are clearly visible (when it is turned off) when i tilt my tr in such a way so that the bulb on the ceiling is reflected on the center of the screen. i have tried hard but they certainly dont come off. they appear slightly less black than the screen itself.

i dont think they were there initially when i got it. has ne one else noticed the same ?

they definitely couldnt be dead pixels.

It sounds like something got on the screen.  I just looked at mine and it looks fine.  Are you sure something didn’t stain the display.  What did you use to clean the LCD with?

I use the cleaning kit recommended by Sony i.e. PCGA-CG10. did u look at urs after turning it off ? it would look fine if looked at when windows is on. no liquid or ne thing of that sort has fallen on its display till date.

Rahul.  Yes I did look at it with the computer off.  I used your technique of looking at an angle to get the reflection of a bright light on the blank screen.  It seemed fine to me.  Maybe someone else has seen the effect you described.  Good luck.

Thanks, I can now start worrying about it :cry:  :cry: . If more ppl reply to my question with a no then I might have to get in touch with Sony soon.

If you can’t tell the difference when the screen is on, what does it matter? You’re not going to have an easy time convincing a decent tech support team that you have a problem that requires changing the LCD with that, never mind Sony’s tech support.

thanks for the help…even though i did the wrong thing, i actually tried pressing those bubbles with my nail a bit and they almost disappeared.
