Hey silyb0y - I don’t take offense. This forum is the best forum I have been part of because of how helpful and friendly people are. You can definitely share your opinion and for myself, I won’t take offense.
For my situation, there is no liability. In this case, the worst I can do is file a consumer report and even that is not going to do a whole lot, unless they continue to or have been getting them a lot.
I would love a refund, but they are not going to do that and will only do that by me sending that battery back and they take out their cells they installed. No thanks on that. I know the battery isn’t really worth anything and don’t care. It is for my own use.
I know scratching and marking up the battery would happen and the site even stated that. But here is where I have a couple of problems. One, they grossly over scratched and marked up the battery AND the glue job was really terrible (obviously because now the battery is coming apart). The second thing is, despite the fact you took your battery apart and ruined it (as to be expected if I did it myself), they are a company claiming to be experts and have knowledge and “tricks” as to limit the amount of damage since their business is solely doing this. Because of this, I expect quality products and services from them. If I sent my battery to you and got what I have now, I can’t complain because you are not representing yourself as a business that knows how to perform this job and take my money.
I also made it VERY clear in three emails I wanted a SONY battery, to which I was assured I would get, but got an aftermarket battery. If I was told they couldn’t get a Sony and only shipped aftermarket batteries, then I would have ended my quest for a replacement and left it at that. I was flat out lied to. I have nothing against a battery made in China, but it is their OWN website that once again, clearly states, “…we know the differences between the original manufactured design and the cheap Chinese design.†Once again, I was lied to.
Bottom line for me silyb0y is not the money - it is representing your company as you state it can and will perform and not lie and mislead. I hardly ever return things and hardly complain, but when I am treated and disregarded the way I have been with these idiots, then it pisses me off.
Since I stated from the first post that I will be painting my laptop, battery included, I think I will simply apply some heavy duty glue to it, sand down the bad areas and call it good. As always, I will keep this thread updated if need be.
Thanks silyb0y for speaking your mind
