I got a little problem here.

Ive just bought a ram module, pulled from a TR. It was garunteed to be working. However. When I put it into my TR my machine wouldnt even boot no matter wich slot I use.

Is that a clear indication that the RAM module is defective? Or is there anything Ive overseen???

Sounds like you are correct. Especially if that is the only thing you have changed. I have built and ripped apart many laptops and one common problem of people thinking their laptops are bad is simply the RAM going bad.

If you put back in your original good RAM and the laptop boots, it is definitely the RAM. Sorry to hear of your bad luck silyb0y :(

I recently swapped out the RAM in my SZ (from 2 x 512K to 2 x 1MB) and it wouldn’t even POST.  Lights would come on, but nobody home.

Turns out I didn’t have one of the modules fully seated.  After reseating both new modules it works like a champ.  It was a little difficult to get one of the modules to fully seat.

Might be worth checking out.

Yeah… problem only occurs with the module Ive just bought. Tried in both slots and checked its seat. Wouldnt work. Guess Ill have to write an angry letter to the seller. Thanks for your help!
