I am here buddy! Actually, in a couple of months or so, I should be ready to post a pretty extensive post on my total, major transformation of my TR2.

I will be receiving the body parts of the laptop on Monday and have all I need to have it painted professionally, yes, I am painting my TR2 black. I have a friend who works at a body shop so I am having the TR2 painted - pieces taken apart and ready for painting.

Once I get the black pieces back, I will take this laptop apart and put the guts into the black one, complete with major upgrades.

Two other components hold this up - a 60GB SSD drive from Samsung and the heatsink mod. Once those have been acquired, I will do this and when I do, I will be sure to post a long reply

It would also be fine to get some experience from using the new TZ. Such material is lacking in the Forum, unfortunately.

Yea I will keep everyone updated on the project. I did this with the battery replacement also when I sent it off instead of buying a new battery.

I think I may have seen that site, but not sure. I am glad you linked it because I will use it to compare for my laptop painting, but I know I will pay very little to nothing for mine since my friend is taking care of it for me. I will be sure to post it all here though.

I have been to Corvallis. It is pretty boring, but gives you time to focus intensely on what you want

Well, I’ve just ordered a new TZ to replace my very well-used TR1MP. I’ll try to post my impressions over the next week or so.

Certain forum sections should probably amended to acknowledge the existance of the TZ series.

Well, there hasn’t been much movement on the ultraportable seen so it’s part of the reason for the drop off. Also consider that there hasn’t been a lot of innovation recently. The new TZ may change   that. I’m considering getting one but it doesn’t suit my needs exactly…but we’ll see.

Sorry I haven’t been around much but I’ve recently started a new job and have been busy getting up to speed on all the projects I have on my tasklist. Things will calm down in the next month of so.

I may get around to doing some forum consolidation in the next couple of weeks once I plan out what makes sense. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to respond here or I’ll start a new thread.
