Trying to restore tr3a to factory settings using the recovery media kit facility. Every time I try (with internal cd burner or external dvd burner), it comes up with:

Image Creation Error
An error happened during image creation!
There may be a problem in recovery area.
Exit this tool then restart your computer.
Create ‘Recovery’ again after the computer is restarted.

I’ve tried a zillion times and it just won’t create the recovery discs.

Did anyone else have this problem?
My tr3a is a US version, ‘tho I’m based in the UK. Anyone else know how I can get my hands on the discs without the time/currency/location problems of using the less-than-helpful Sony site in the USA?

Check your disks are clean, although I guessed you did that already and if it still being an arse, you might have to purchase a new set of discs… £28 from Sony Vaio, I don’t think it matters which disks your after. Another option is to change the hard drive and test the disks that way, also a good chance to increase your HD capacity!!
