My faithfull TR3/B has been injured somewhat, the screen is dead.  Unlike most others, I have not dropped it and the screen isnt cracked!  I was wondering if the inverter is dead, but I have not seen any faint display of images at all.  The only life I can get out of the screen, is when I power on.  The screen turns white immediately, I think thats just the backlight coming on making it appear white? Would a broken inverter allow for this backlight to work? The screen stays white untill I boot and swtich over to an external VGA display, which is the only way I’m able to use it at the moment. (*sniff sniff*  :cry: )

It could be your video card or the screen. I repaired a LOT of IBM laptops and when the screen went white, it was because of a bad video card or bad LCD. But, with this little laptop, I am not an expert.

We’ll I’ve just changed the inverter for a new one, and thats not it :(  I still have an all white display after power on.  So if the inverter is good, what’s next? I dont think it’s the video card as the laptop can run an external monitor no problem, so i’m a little stuck and would appreciate any more thoughts!!

It’s probably your LCD panel problem.
You should the cables first to see if its connector is plugged to LCD controller board firmly and check if there is any broken cable.
