I went ahead and purchased the extended battery from YesMicro a couple of weeks ago and it doesn’t seem to hold a charge.  The percentage remaining will just tick down at the rate of about 1% every 45 seconds to a minute.  If I leave the computer in standby mode overnight there’s a good chance the computer will be off because the battery died.

I went to try and return it to YesMicro and they told me they don’t take returns on Sony products and that I have to go through Sony.  They get a NoMicro rating from me.  Before I partake in this hassle, this sounds like a defective battery, right?

Definitely sounds like a defective battery. Hopefully Sony can get you a new one quickly.
