i bought a new pcga uvc11a to follow bushman’s tutorial on fixing the motion eye (sticky in hardware section)
the problem i’m having now must be a driver issue i think or somethings not plugged in right anymore bc when smart capture is turned on the green light on the camera does not appear i tried fooling with some drivers to no avail. i even tried putting the old ccd back but nothing
seems like there’s no power to the camera anymore or it doesn’t know when to turn on after the capture hotkey is pressed.
please help….

getting a “device can not start. (Code 10) error in device manager.
edit: i did a system restore after doing some more research but still no green light. something is up with the usb not turning on the cam anymore.(if that helps)

Not too sure, but try this step:

7. Once again, goto Device Manager. Under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, you should see 4 entries named “USB Root Hub”. The 3rd one should be for the camera. Double click on it and select the Power Tab and make sure you see something like “Sony Visual Communication Camera VCC-U01” under the Attached devices label. If thats not the case then select another USB root hub and try the same. Now, click on the Power Management tab and uncheck the entry which says “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.” Click OK and exit device manager.

i checked that but none of them show the camera; however there is one that says unknown device about the usb roots and it says that there is no driver loaded but i’ve tried to load a lot of diff. drivers for it, unless there is one special that im overlooking.. it seems it’ s not reconizing it.
now there is still the ! in imaging devices category by Pcg -uv101

If you have the recovery discs, try following some of the initial steps (uptil 7 for the camera) in this tutorial:

Do make a backup incase anything goes wrong.
