Has anyone come across this problem?  The hinge on the TR is normally stiff through almost all ranges of motion except just before it’s closed, when it snaps shut.  For the past few weeks, I have noticed that the hinge is loose and the monitor rocks back and forth (wobbles) when I move the laptop.  Any ideas?  I’ve opened the TR 3-4 times.  I always put all the screws in the right place.  What I’m not sure about is if I’ve lost a washer or reinforcement for the hinge on one of these occasions.  Any feedback appreciated.

Hinges deteriorate with age.  The best solution is to replace the hinge(s).  Sony DAPC selles them.

That’s a possibility as well.  As much as it pains me to pour money into this TR, I do love it, and want to hold on to it for a bit longer, so I’ll be shelling out some $$.  As an aside, I just confirmed with Sony DAPC that they actually have a replacement MotionEye in stock, although it’s quite expensive (over $200 CDN).  I am considering getting it however, as I miss having the convenient MontionEye for my MSN video chats with family and friends abroad.  As if med school is not expensive enough, this baby is killing me lol.
