Hey guys, well hope some one can help me out. My Hard Drive decided to bite the big one last night.. FUDGE!! It was a toshiba 40GB, standard on all TR3AP’s.. i think. Anyways, just wanted to know what my options are in regards to upgrading… OR if someone has a spare hardrive lying around that they wanna get rid of for cheaper than the retail price. Please get back to me asap. Ill pay you guys through paypal right away.

Are you sure it’s a Toshiba? My TR3AP has a Hitachi in it. They are different in how hook up. I found a few of both brands on eBay this morning.

I had to replace mine last year. I just upgraded to a 60gb last week.

Yep, after several years of flawless service mine just bit the dust.

I’m confused, because my dead Hitachi drive has the ATI connector on the side—pretty unusual, and not like the Toshibas. Do I need a different connector to use the Toshibas?

Is there a list someplace of which drives are compatible?

This place has a good list, but half of the drives are listed as “Not for use with Sony Vaio PCG TR series”  Anybody know why not?
