dropped mine and am having harddrive issues.  Need to open the case to access it (see if it’s cooked & needs replaced or just knocked something loose - it really didn’t hit that hard…).  I took out screws on bottom and can pry the front open just a little but am afraid to pry farther for fear of breaking something.

How do I open this thing?!?!?!  Can I do it by taking off keyboard and if so how do you do that?

i just took apart my t370 a couple days ago and it should be identical…

of course, take off every screw on the bottom.  Also, remove the battery and pull off those screws.  And the power switch and identical nuckle plastic hinge cover on the other side.  There is a screw under the plastic hinge on the left side and maybe right side.

The keyboard is held down by the 3 screws on the bottom of the system with the dot next to the arrow.  After all screws are out, the keyboard is clips in by 2 tiny buttons above the F5 and numlock buttons (similar to a dell keyboard).  Pry on 1 side of the keyboard and push each switch in.  unplug the keyboard ribbon going to the board. 

Next, 2 more screws holding down the subframe.  get those out, pull out 3 ribbons and a push ribbon and pull off the subframe. 

There is a wire going from the power subboard to the mainboard.  untape it and pull it off.  Now you can access the 1.8” HD.

This is all from memory, but i’m 90% sure its at least 95% accurate.

I just read your other post talking about the issues you’re having.  I had similar issues after a hard drop and it wasn’t the HD.  I could sometimes get the thing booted, but it crashed constantly.
It turned out to be a combination of a grounding of the mobo and problematic keyboard ribbon.  I electric taped the grounding culprit, taped down the keyboard wire, and foamed out the bottom of the keyboard and currently, i’m running at 100%.
For good measure, i also did a chkdsk /r on the HD, but everything was fine.

In all fairness, i seriously abuse my system, so i may have more problems than you do (the little led light stickers is gone, the wifi button doesn’t work, the case doesn’t fit together anymore, etc. etc. etc.)

What is the “grounding mobo” - haven’s opened the case yet (just got home from work) but don’t know what you mean.

for me, it was a conductor making contact with the motherboard and grounding it out (causing a fatal crash and reboot)

How’d you get that knuckle off the left hinge?  Last thing to remove before HD access
