After I did clean installation of Win XP PRO SP2 on my TX770P i loaded all the drivers from the recovery. After I finished installing everything, I opened file manager and i realized that my Flash Media SD Controller Drive is not showing in file manager. However Duo slot is showing and SD is not.  I checked settings in control panel system and it shows only Duo but not SD. I tried to reinstall Texas Instruments® PCI7411 Integrated Flash Media Controller Driver and it did not help.

I also notice that if i do the recovery from recovery CD"s on my TX770P it’s not getting hot under neat at all. Well, just a little bit. And if I do the clean install, it’s getting pretty hot and fan working none stop. I may miss something?

Anyone experience any similar problem?

Currently trying to fix the exact same issue here.  Interestingly, the SD slot was working immediately after I did the clean XP install and ran the latest TI driver setup from Sony.  I don’t think it went away until after I ran all the latest Windows XP updates from Microsoft, but that could be a coincidence.

Just following up on myself here for those of you keeping score… I tried another clean install and found that the SD drive shows up right after you install the Texas Instruments drivers, but it’s gone right after a reboot.  This is without doing any updates from Microsoft.  Haven’t managed to bring it back so far…
