THat is actually pretty cheap for the CP ! I have paid just a little less then $2000 CAD for mine just a week ago!

Wow, that is more than 1,700 USD.  Definitely expensive considering the machine sold for 2,999 USD when new more than 2 years ago.
For that amount you could buy a brand new VAio TX or get close to the proce of the new VAio G series! 

I know ... nevertheless I consider the x505 a timeless piece and I could not say that about those new ones!  Even though the CP sold for that much it might just have been selling for the price of the SP considering that it is also full carbon-fiber made with a better technology, lighter (well even that 5-10g)  and faster CPU! The only reason it was selling for $3000 is that sony had to lower the price to make it economically sensible for people, the fact is that it is the best x505 ever made and I am not sure if not the nicest laptop ever made!
