I have a Sony Vaio TX1XP (UK model) and have used the official Sony Vaio carry case VGP-CKTX1. Yes, those of you who have this case will know that it is not shock-proof, nor exactly very hard, but nonetheless it is an official Vaio TX case so one would assume it has gone through some testing. I never carry my TX outside this case, which itself slips into a bag with no pressure applied against it.
Over the past two or three weeks I have started noticing white spots on the inside of the display (by inside, I mean behind the actual surface, on the inner layer of the glass which cannot be touched). It started with one, now there are three. They are spread mainly around the centre of the screen, and one is further to the left. A couple are large, about 0.5cm wide splodges of white and definitely noticeable. They are most visible at slight angles, and especially on white backgrounds such as MS Word. I should add that I’ve owned the TX for 8 months.
By some Googling I see that the Apple notebooks suffer this problem and are replaced under warranty:

As some Apple notebooks use Sony batteries (I am referring to the recent Dell and Apple Sony-supplied battery recall), do some Apple notebooks also use Sony display technology? This is definitely the same problem as described on the Apple page.
Has anyone experienced this problem with their TX, and did Sony replace your screen?
Thanks in advance
