I should just resolder that socket? What is it that makes the motion eye fail acutally acording to your opinion?

yep   , u have to replace the socket , but be carefull   if very easy to damage ,  all this   is about   2 side socket which not   give enought pressure and accuracy to sure connection with the camera   ..
