hey guys i just got a tx670p for free but when i try to boot the system is say.. no operating system and when i got into the bios it say no drive detected.. not even the optical drive.. could it be a broken controlller?  is this computer junked?

Did you open it up to see if there was an actual hard drive in there? That could be the problem or that the hard drive is fried, therefore the BIOS wouldn’t be able to detect it.

i know the drive is fried for sure now.. but will that caused the optical drive to not show up in the bios as well?

okay.. so it seems the tx ide controller works this way.. if the hd fail.. the optical drive will become also unavailable and goes undetected in the bios.  (please posting here for future reference to others)

check your hdd & cdrom cable,because there is the same cable,if the cable is no problem!!then the main board south bridge chip is dead!! :oops:

as stated above.. ive found the problem already.. if your drive is totally fried..both the hd and optical drive will disappear from the bios and not be detected.
