my tr2a’s hd slowed down from 15mb/s to 3 mb/s and then it died.

the computer won’t even turn on now (no viao logo no power up).  is it worth investing a 100 bucks or so to buy a hd to see if this’ll fix the problem? anyone else have this problem?

You can buy an IDE adapter and connect the HD to a desktop PC to see if it works.  I’ve had to do that more than once.

hey ... i noticed that my hdd has been spinning non-stop and it’s really getting very slow. defrag does not seem to help ... what do you mean by 15mb/s? is that the transfer rate? how do you measure that?

that was the avg rate at which the computer accessed the pc.  yea.  my computer slowly slowed down for 2 months.  i finally crapped out the DAY my macbook arrived ehhe what timing. i measured with a simple hd monitor program.  if i can figure out access with my external, i’ll try to post the file

problem update:

computer works on battery alone.  but once the ac is plugged, the battery won’t charge & the computer shuts off by itself.  is that a battery problem? AC problem or motherboard problem?
