Great find! Maybe I will hold off on my next purchase till this comes out.

I don’t think it’s worth it T/TX owners to move to the 850P/B. There are a couple of draws (faster bus, supposedly a *slightly* better LED illumination, a little more battery life, small step up for Intel GMA). You lose the WWAN, though I don’t think that most people use that anyway.

With the TX750/770 having 100MHz more clock speed, even with the slightly faster bus speed of the TX850, the performance differences will be negligible.

I suppose some may value that a lot instead of carrying an extra battery.
Also less fan noise and a top ejectable CD button; not sure if the button is on the previous model though. But yeah; personally I would wait for ULV duo core.

When jumping from the T-series, I see what you mean. You know, sadly, I didn’t even use the eject button on my TX770P/B until you mentioned it :D . I can be oblivious sometimes.

What I’d lik to see is someone who has used both the 770/TX2 and 850/TX3 and can comment on the differences in fan noise.

Does anyone have any idea when sony will release a core duo tx?

When ULV Core2Duo appears, not before spring next year for sure.

tested the tx3 couple days ago, couldnt note any remarkable fan noise and the machine is really fast (not to mention in comparison to my x505sp )
